Partners in Education

Hillgrove recognizes the importance of our partners in helping us to provide a holistic educational experience for our students.  Our School Advisory Committee (SAC) comprising of representatives from the tertiary education, community, and business sectors, as well as parents of our students, helps provides important perspectives for us as we set our school direction and run the school.  Our SAC members provide financial support for the financial needs of students, as well as academic and CCA achievement awards.  Our SAC members, as well as our close links with tertiary institutions, also provides strategic links to tertiary institutions which enables us to participate in their programmes, and provide information to the pupils on the choice of institutions for their further education.

A Family that Cares

 

Hillgrove Secondary School was started in Jan 2001 due to the efforts of Mr Ang Mong Seng, Member of Parliament for Bukit Gombak GRC, who sought to meet the needs of the Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak community.  Mdm Thoo Mei Lan was the first principal, and was succeeded in turn by Mrs Yeow Lee Lin (December 2002-2008) and Mr Kenneth Lee (from December 2008).  Mrs Carol Lim joined our school in June 2005 as Vice-Principal, and has been succeeded by Mr Mark Chan in 2009.

  The 21st century world in which our children live is significantly different from that of yesterday.  In this digital age, intellectual capital drives progress, so advances in the 21st century will be possible only if the intellectual potential of our youth is well developed.
